15 Years of Nightmare - 2CD

Celebrating 15 years of "Nightmare" is something that deserves special attention, something that must do justice to the rich and glorious history of one of the longest lasting concepts within the hardcore scene. Mid-Town and UDC decided to up the ante and honor this milestone with the mind-blowing "15 years of Nightmare" party held in Ahoy.

Along comes the official "15 years of Nightmare" compilation 2CD, which is of nothing less than the same high-quality of the event itself.
The best of the best artists were asked to mix and compile a selection of some of their favorite tunes of the past and present.

On the first disc you'll find mixes by none other than Tha Playah and DJ Promo. Both mixes are filled with new and exclusive tracks blended with a current selection of dance floor fillers and only the most high-quality hardcore. The first part by Tha Playah is packed with his own magnificent productions, like the shocking “Cold As Me” together with Evil Activities. Off course the amazing Nightmare anthem by Neophyte vs The Stunned Guys can also be found in this mix. Promo's effort is a lot rougher, as you might expect. This mix contains a lot of exclusive tracks, like his new track “Your Love Is Gone” and brand new remixes.

The second CD is all about the history of Nightmare and the music that goes along with it. The first mix is made by 2 true legends of the Nightmare saga, Paul vs Panic. They deliver exactly what you would expect from 15 years of Nightmare history. The mix contains a wide variety of the greatest hits from the past and some long forgotten but superb gems. Mix number 2 comes from the hands of hardcore heroes Ruffneck & Gangsta Alliance and takes the CD to the next level. Their classic "artcore" sound will release all the energy in every hardcore fanatic. A perfect combination of fast melodies, pumping breaks and banging kickdrums!

All together this massive release is a great reflection of the past 15 years of the Nightmare and a must-have for all the dedicated fans and hardcore-heads!

Symp.toms Vol.4 - Life below 20Hz - 2CD

As the dark days of Christmas draw ever closer and the beginning of a new year becomes imminent, Symp.tom decided it wanted to end 2008 with a bang. So without further ado we present the next chapter of the well-known series: Symp.toms Vol.4: Life Below 20Hz. Where the previous 2 editions were filled with the best live sets from the “industrial” area of A Nightmare Outdoor, this time we return to the concept of the first chapter of the series... however, everything goes into overdrive now!

Putting the total at 52 tracks on 2 discs, Symp.tom's own residents Mental Wreckage and The Relic each crafted a mix out of a carefully selected collection of the darkest and filthiest “industrial” orientated hardcore tracks. Of course lots of material from the Symp.tom label itself (including brand new tracks by Mute., Dual Mechanism & The Relic) as well as quality (some new and exclusive) tracks from the likes of The Outside Agency, Ophidian, Moleculez, Broken Rules, Razor Edge and many... many more.

The result is 2 smashing discs both containing an uncompromised sonic assault filled with crushing kickdrums, wicked breaks, pitch dark atmospheres and a lot of distortion. The ideal soundtrack for the dark days of the winter.

Mute.
The sense of utter desolation and the need for desperate revenge
SMPT011

Buy here!
Just before the end of the year Mute. finally returns on the mighty Symp.tom imprint after a very long absence. Luckily, all that lost time wasn’t in vein as he delivers a stunning release in his own unique style. Once again, don’t let the artist name mislead you, because these tracks are anything but silent! Both sides of this release start of with a short intro followed by two tracks loaded with raw and mind breaking sounds. “The sense of utter desolation and the need for desperate revenge” never opts for the easy way out and is filled with a grim and dismal atmosphere constantly haunting you throughout its 4 main tracks.

Along with SMPT011 comes a surprising and free extra in the form of SMPT011.1. This release, going by the name of “A single chunk of preliminary drama and the truth about pop music” starts of with a separate intro (The truth about pop music_vol.1) leading into the epic “Black soup” which lasts for over 17 minutes!

This release will be available in two separate ways:

- The first is a special packaged limited edition 8cm mini-CD which comes free with the first orders of SMPT011 at the online shop of Mid-Town Records www.midtownshop.nl. This special package is limited to 100 copies and will only be available at midtownshop.nl for a very short time.

- The second is freely downloading the whole release in high-quality mp3 through the Symp.tom website www.symptom.nl. This mp3 package will be available shortly after the “special package” release.

Lush 7 vs Zomar
Swell
WASTED008

Buy here!
Lush 7 vs Zomar: One of the most innovative minimal house producers are back with the lovely swell ep. Swell is most appealing for thea-side as it starts by using a deadmau5 kind of structure but after the first break it goes to a more noisey anarchic direction with a more energetic drive and certainly a touch of melody and nice atmosphere. It brings a whole new way of looking at that very trendy style of dirty house. Pick a pipe takes the more minimal direction but with an interesting twist that make this a more energetic playful driving track that soundz perfect on a loud sound system. Satisfaction guaranteed. Top tracks to spicey up your sets.
